Deanna is an accredited GCI coach and as a former Principal, has worked with teachers and leaders to implement a culture of coaching in two school settings. She continues to engage in professional coaching with leaders and facilitate a wide range of coaching workshops. Deanna and has completed coaching to a Master Class level.

Deanna brings her highly successful experience as Principal of three primary schools. She has led culturally diverse schools on very successful improvement pathways. Deanna has 30+ years of experience in education - teaching and leading in a range of school (Y1-8) settings.

Deanna’s services within and across schools are wide ranging, working with School Boards, Principals, Senior and Middle Leadership Teams and teachers. Her expertise includes coaching and mentoring (strategic implementation, building a coaching culture), leadership, curriculum design/development, Restorative Practice (RP) and school improvement.

Deanna has a passion for, and expertise in, the practical translation of theory and research to improve formative practice, teaching as inquiry and positive classroom learning culture. Her Doctor of Education was obtained through The University of Auckland, and her research examined school implementation of The New Zealand Curriculum (educational change, key competencies and children’s voice).
