Katherine Hudson

Consultant Coach


Katherine Hudson has been a Growth Coaching International Consultant Coach since 2014, after a stimulating and rewarding career in education as Principal of three schools. Katherine had many opportunities and experiences to develop her own leadership as well as that of others, and a passion for leadership and learning flourished. In addition to school leadership, from October 2011 until March 2012 Katherine was seconded to work at the Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL) as Principal in Residence, giving her the opportunity to both learn and influence national educational initiatives.

As a coach Katherine works to builds confidence to maximise performance to move people forward to where they want to be and beyond. Katherine believes wherever you are on your leadership journey, coaching can take you to places you haven’t been. Her style is reflective, as well as energetic and enthusiastic, building trusting relationships, dreaming the future, utilising strategic planning, feedback and the use of management processes. She has coached Government and Catholic Principals, Assistant Principals and leadership teams, to develop individual and team capacity.

As a principal she presented at conferences, principal networks and international conferences on Professional Learning Communities and leadership learning, and was the recipient of ACEL (Victoria) Hedley Beare Educator of the Year Award 2007, National Award for Quality Schooling, Excellence by a Principal, Highly commended, 2007, and Principals Australia Institute, John Laing Professional Development Award, 2013.

Katherine has a Master of Education from University of Melbourne, is a Fellow of the Australian Council for Educational Leaders (FACEL), an Accredited Growth Coach (Growth Coaching International), and a member of the GCI Victorian team, and conducts coaching programs through the Bastow Institute for Educational Leadership. She has GENOS Emotional Intelligence Certification, has coached principals using the AITSL 360 Reflection Tool, in 2015 completed the Solutions Focus Master Class and in 2016 attended the International Symposium for Coaching and Positive Psychology in Education (ISCAPPED).
