Debbie has a 32 year career in education with extensive school based experience as a classroom teacher, school leader and principal. She then spent eight years in senior management roles in the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development, Victoria (DEECD) focused on building leadership and teacher capacity and school improvement. Debbie was also a member of the inaugural Bastow Institute of Educational Leadership team with major responsibility for the operational management and day-to-day functioning of the state-of-the-art facility. Also the development and supervision of high quality professional learning for aspirant and school leaders.

Debbie is an experienced coach and educational consultant with a proven track record of providing practical support based on first-hand experience and an extensive knowledge base. She is committed to supporting schools and leaders to develop their own and other’s leadership capacity and to implement strategic and sustainable improvement. Debbie currently facilitates Bastow Programs such as the Evolve: New Principals Program, Creating a High Performance Learning Culture and was a lead mentor in the Unlocking Potential: Principal Preparation Program. Since 2014 Debbie has worked as a coach for GCI coaching aspirant and experienced school leaders.

Debbie holds a Graduate Diploma in Educational Leadership from Hawthorn Institute, a Bachelor of Education from Riverina Institute and Diploma of Education (Primary) from Frankston Teachers College. She is a Member Victorian institute of Teaching, a School Reviewer, a Genos Emotional Intelligence Practitioner as well as an accredited GCI Coach.
