Anne’s background includes significant experience in both the government and Catholic education systems in Victoria. After working in a variety of leadership positions across both the curriculum and student management arms in secondary schools, Anne moved to system level roles - firstly in the Hume Government Region and then at Catholic Education Ballarat.

Anne focuses on building the capacity of teachers and school leaders to deliver quality learning and leadership in their particular contexts. Anne is driven by her beliefs that:

  • all students can learn
  • all teachers can deliver quality learning to students through reflecting on their practice and continually learning from and for their students
  • all leaders can develop their skills through reflection, inviting feedback and maintaining curiosity

She has worked as a facilitator and coach with leaders, staffs, teams and individuals, focussing on reflective practice, evidence to challenge or confirm perception, and a quest for continual improvement.

Anne holds a Bachelor of Arts, Diploma of Education, Graduate Diploma in School Librarianship and Masters in Education. She is an Accredited Coach with Growth Coaching International, has completed a Solution Focused Business Professional Certificate with the University of Wisconsin and has recently completed training as an Accredited Practitioner of the GENOS Emotional Intelligence Survey psychometric tool.

Anne has attended numerous ACEL and GCI/CSE workshops and national conferences. Recently she has blended her knowledge and passion for coaching with her passion for school librarianship presenting workshops at state and local levels encouraging these school professionals to join their colleagues in rigorous self-reflections on practice and action for ‘even better’. Anne’s article, titled ‘Self-reflection, evaluation and inviting feedback in school libraries’, which highlighted the use of GCI’s model as a tool to enhance library practice, has been published in the FYI journal for the School Library Association of Victoria.
