Taking a kaleidoscopic view of England's coaching in education

Rachel Lofthouse is Professor of Teacher Education in the Carnegie School of Ed, Leeds Beckett University. She is Director of ‘CollectivEd: The Centre for Mentoring, Coaching and Professional Learning’. CollectivED is a network of teachers and other professionals, academics & students as local, national & international friends, partners and practitioners. A former secondary teacher & middle leader, Rachel was also a teacher educator & researcher at Newcastle University. Her research relates to creating opportunities for teachers to experience success through professional learning.

Rose Blackman Hegan has spent the majority of her professional life working in education and has experience in leadership and organisational development, as a well as coach, consultant and trainer. Formerly a secondary school headteacher, and most recently as a Director for a large educational charity in the UK leading on strategic design and delivery of leadership development programmes.
