Essentials of GROWTH Coaching is a one-day professional learning experience designed to introduce educators to coaching as both a formal structured conversation and as way of leading all conversations. The GROWTH Framework brings shape and intention to the way we manage conversations and supports more facilitative, reflective conversations that build trust, clarity, and professional agency.

Research-informed and practitioner-focused, the course equips educators with a flexible and adaptable framework as well as the practical skills to lead high-quality coaching conversations.

About Essentials of GROWTH Coaching

The Essentials of GROWTH Coaching course is a highly practical introduction to the three elements of coaching with a particular emphasis on the application of the GROWTH Framework. The GROWTH framework is a way of bringing shape and structure to both formal and less-formal coaching and leadership conversations. It can also enhance collaborative conversations between peers.

Through supported practise, participants will develop the confidence, understanding and skills needed to immediately apply the framework to support reflection, goal setting, and growth in others.

All participants receive a Coaching Journal containing key frameworks and tools. 

Structure
Learning Design

At GCI, we believe that we act our way into learning rather than learn our way into acting. With this principle in mind, all of our courses have a strong emphasis on practice.

GCI courses are designed by educators for educators with a commitment to interactive and engaging learning experiences delivered by skilled facilitators with extensive experience in education.

When we are engaged in praxis we are reflecting in action – taking what we are learning and applying it in real-life situations. Our in-person and online courses enable praxis through a ‘coaching approach’ to facilitation combined with a range of thoughtfully designed adult learning experiences including:

  • individual and group reflection activities
  • co-operative learning tasks
  • practise opportunities using real workplace scenarios
  • modelling
  • observation and feedback
  • debrief sessions

The Essentials of GROWTH Coaching course is available as:

  • 1-day in-person or online (6 hours)
  • 3 x 2 hour workshops (online only)
